I know this is totally lame, but he IS cute ;) You never know, college tuition?

ahhhh....yard dreaming

I don't think my mind turns off very often, I wish it did! I might not keep adding stuff to a list when I can't even get things done I've already started!

Anywhooo......Greg had to take down part of our deck last fall because the back of our house is falling off! Not really, but kind of? That's how it goes with old homes. She's working on 100 years! Needed to pour some concrete in the basement and outside of it to stabilize everything and then get the bricks replaced and filled in.

So here's what we are working with

Nice, hunh?

So here's a running list of some of the things we would like to accomplish:

replace the deck
get a garden going (working on that now, hopefully I can show you sometime this week!)
play area for Em
real grass in the front yard ( right now all we are growing in from and back is weeds!)
remove aluminum siding and paint wood siding underneath (that'll be a whopper)

And here's a little inspiration

a beautiful day for yardwork and golf

Emerson and I got to enjoy the nice weather yesterday with a trip to Lowe's, the park, a nap, lunch and some yardwork and a little golf :)

We have a small strip of dirt that runs between our driveway and house, it doesn't get much sunlight and only had a few things living in it, WEEDS and one azalea.
We left the azalea, tore out the weeds and planted some ground cover, hopefully it will do really well and fill in nicely by next year :)
the bright green is moneywort and the dark green is mondo grass

Emerson helping me plant this awesome swirly grass, that had been catching my eye, everytime I entered Lowe's so this time we got it, I figured now we had a spot for it now beacuse one of my daylilies didn't come back this year?

picture looking up under our huge maple tree out front :)

tee it up!
On a side note: Greg played in a ProAm golf tournament about a week ago, where he was tied for 1st place, he had his playoff match last night and WON!!!! GO GREG!!!

Park it!

The past few weeks have been soo nice here! Blue skies and warm enough weather to get out and enjoy it. Emerson and have "parked it" all over town. Everytime Em notices a playground he says, "pway" how can we not?

The first, is a trip to Mount Trashmore (yes that's right! a mountain of trash.) We stopped after going to watch my Dad finish the Shamrock 1/2 Marathon! GO PAPA!!!!! Anyway, they have a great park with, rubber floors underneath the whole thing, a little cushion is always nice :) A huge trail around a lake and lots of people flying kites and practicing hang gliding which is fun from a safe distance :)

The second and third are at Oak Grove, also lovely and a little closer to home! Tiny little playground, but lots of sticks! Emerson is really into sticks right now, he just carries them around until he finds a better one and then swaps. Oh, and just incase you are wondering, stick rules are as follows: No running with sticks, and no sticks  around other kids, we surely don't want to be blamed for any bodily stick injuries. Oak Grove is best because of the water! It's so pretty and Emerson likes to pretend like he's fishing. One day, I'm going to take him with a rod and reel and not just a stick :)

Make it Monday

I'm linking up with Ashley over at The Pollock Potluck this evening. It's barely Monday, but it counts!

The Polluck Potluck

You can play along too.....Just do something you've pinned on Pinterest.....easy enough right?

Anyway this was my pick for this week

It's a big ole' bowl of beans, fun for scooping, dumping, spilling :/ I don't know why that didn't cross my mind earlier? But they're just beans and Em loved it!!!

an big tupperware bowl we hardly use and my stash of vase filler

we started will beans and big rocks but the combination was really messy
(heavy rocks and lighter beans =lots on the floor)

I had everything already, so this edition of Make it Monday totaled up to completely free!

Remember when....?

I can't exactly remember how old Em was, if I had to guess about 15 months. Two funny, cute, heart melting things happened within about a week or two of each other and I'm scared I will forget so I'm blogging them :)

First one: A little background, this was around the time we where learning lots of animal noises and working on please and thank yous'.

Greg was eating some kind of snack while we were just hanging out and Emerson wanted some.......He was doing this mumbling, grunting thing, meaning that he wanted some too, and I was telling him to "use your words" and Greg asking him "what do you say?".........Em's response....."heehaw"

Priceless!

Second one: Our little guy is a kisser! He likes to give kisses most of the time anyway. This will probably not be cute when he is getting in trouble for kissing other's in school in a few years, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there?

On my days off, I usually wait until Em wakes me up and I go hop in the shower while he is coming around....so one morning when I peeked through the crack in his door just to catch a glimpse of my little cutie, guess what he's doing??? Yep laying a big ole' good mornin' smooch on his bear, bear! With a "mmmmuuuuaaaahhhhhh" and all.

I wish I had a picture to share with you, but right now it's stuck in this brain of mine, and I hope that's where it stays!!!!
